OPERATIONS // REVIEW GATES

    Product Review Checklist

The practical gates INNERSTANDIN plans to use before publishing a future product, service, test, or household-tool review.

    Status // Working public policy

This page sets a transparent operating foundation. Qualified UK review is still required before commercial activity or scaled health claims begin.

Last reviewed: 18 August 2026 // Qualified review still required

    Operating document, not a recommendation

This checklist is an internal operating standard made public for transparency. It is not a product recommendation, medical assessment, buying instruction, or statement that any future item is safe or effective.

No products, affiliate links, paid placements, or purchase flows are active on the Recommendations pages today. A candidate must pass the relevant gates and qualified UK review before a commercial page is considered for publication.

Gate 01 // Name the claim

Write the exact claim a reader is being asked to trust. Identify whether it comes from the seller, a practitioner, a study, a label, a review, or an inference from a biological mechanism. Record what the item is intended to do in practical terms without adding a wider health promise.

Ask whether the claim uses disease, treatment, prevention, cure, symptom, detox, exposure, or guaranteed-outcome language. Escalate or reject wording that turns uncertainty into certainty.

Gate 02 // Check the evidence

Find peer-reviewed human studies and systematic reviews where they exist. Record the population, comparison, duration, dose or exposure, outcome, effect size where reported, study limitations, funding, and conflicts.

Keep mechanistic, animal, in-vitro, small, or early findings labelled as limited context. Do not transfer a result from a different population or outcome without explaining why that transfer may not hold.

Gate 03 // Confirm form, ingredients, and dose

Record the exact ingredient, chemical or product form, amount per serving, recommended use, excipients, allergens, batch or lot information, and any meaningful differences from the form studied in human research.

A familiar ingredient name is not enough. A product description, dose, formulation, or delivery method that differs from the evidence must be treated as a separate question.

Gate 04 // Review safety and interactions

Check the seller information, relevant study safety data, warnings, contraindications, interactions, pregnancy and breastfeeding information, age limits, storage, maintenance, and circumstances that call for a qualified professional conversation.

Safety information must be specific enough for a reader to know what still needs checking. The review should not imply that a general disclaimer resolves an individual medicine, condition, or risk question.

Gate 05 // Inspect quality and testing

Record manufacturing information, ingredient transparency, batch testing, third-party testing, contamination controls where relevant, certification details, customer service, returns, subscriptions, and any gaps that prevent a fair assessment.

A certificate, badge, laboratory result, or manufacturing statement can provide quality context. It does not prove that an item produces a particular health outcome.

Gate 06 // Check UK availability and total cost

Confirm where the item or service can be obtained in the UK, whether stock or delivery is stable, and what the reader may pay over time. Include repeat purchases, maintenance, replacement parts, subscriptions, interpretation, shipping, or cancellation costs where relevant.

UK availability and permitted wording provide practical context. They do not add scientific weight or turn a commercial claim into evidence.

Gate 07 // Record conflicts and independence

Record commissions, gifts, samples, sponsorship, brand influence, practitioner relationships, funding, affiliate terms, and the person responsible for the second review. State the relationship near the published material when it could affect a reader’s understanding.

Payment, commission, free samples, or topic sponsorship cannot determine the conclusion, evidence label, inclusion, ranking, or publication decision.

Gate 08 // State what the item cannot prove

End the review by stating what the evidence does not establish. A product, service, test, device, observation, or result cannot by itself prove a cause, diagnosis, treatment response, prevention effect, cure, or personal benefit.

List the remaining questions, practical trade-offs, and reasons a reader may wish to discuss personal circumstances with a qualified professional. Keep this boundary visible on mobile and beside any future commercial link.

Gate 09 // Publish, monitor, and revisit

Before publication, complete a second-person check of sources, claims, safety wording, UK context, conflicts, labels, links, and review date. After publication, monitor changed formulas, changed seller claims, new evidence, complaints, broken links, and availability.

Correct material errors clearly. Pause or remove a page when the evidence, safety information, disclosure, or commercial relationship no longer meets the working policy.
